A Personal Message

Hey, I'm Matty Gee

I'm a Perth local, parent, and entrepreneur who has dedicated my life to the impact space. My unwavering vision is to become Australia's most significant philanthropist, and this is the story of how I'm making that a reality.

The Real Story

I live to change people's lives for the better and protect the environment we inhabit, and I do this by creating a movement of people who care.

Where I Started

I started with a simple desire: to serve nature and humanity through giving and philanthropy. Not a business plan. Not a pitch deck. Just a genuine belief that people and the planet deserved better — and that I was willing to sacrifice everything to prove it.

Where I'm Going

From that starting point, I've been building something much larger — a system of many interconnected revenue streams, each designed to generate the kind of scale that can meaningfully fund causes, reward participants, and change how value flows in the world.

The Centrepiece — For Now

The Container Deposit Scheme and the 10c Recycling Games are where I'm proving this model works. But that's just the beginning.

Being in the impact space without reaching a level of sustainability is hard. It hasn't worked out that well over the years, and I have lost everything three times trying, but I keep going with relentless determination and a desire to be the change people need. Things were hard due to market conditions, timing, and a lack of experience in the early days, especially with the pandemic thrown into the mix. In saying that, I was able to raise and donate millions and millions of dollars to various causes all over Australia with the backing of over 100,000 people who believed in me and all from strategies I created.

This time is different. I am creating a self-perpetuating loop in the circular economy that will have one of the strongest sustainability models in the world to keep my funding not only alive, but thriving at a global scale.

Everything I do within my new eco-system leverages systems and industries that already have existing revenue and consumer behaviour. All I need to do is change that existing consumer behaviour using gamification, adding game-like elements to everyday parts of life, along with large-scale rewards, and then funnel that revenue through my company in order to create the largest incentives in Australia to drive the behaviour needed for real results across each industry.

This is where the 10c Recycling Games is very strong, and why I'm moving into the circular economy as a whole through Urban Mining. Everything that has value will be returned and either recycled or repurposed, with the revenue flowing straight into a central prize pool to drive repeat behaviour and fund philanthropic activities.

Once I have secured all revenue streams in urban mining, I am projecting prize pools in the billions each year, along with a billion-dollar annual philanthropy fund to support the causes that need it most. I'm using technology and innovative strategies to make philanthropy scalable, and this doesn't happen without large-scale incentives. They go hand in hand.

I'm incredibly passionate about this, and as mentioned, I will NOT stop until I achieve this goal. I have developed strategies from every angle to make that happen.

I'm part of the population that is destroying the environment, and so now it is my duty of care to lead people towards a better way to live, a better way to recycle what can be recycled, reuse what can be reused, and restore what we as humans have damaged in the environment.

To make this fun and viral, I'm launching it as the Behaviour Change Experiment — Australia's largest behavioural experiment. I will bring every beverage container home to the scheme, and this is just the beginning.

This has been validated by Tim Cusack, CEO of WARRRL (WA's container deposit scheme coordinator), and since then, I have put everything into this in order to succeed. This isn't about me. It's about people and the environment.

Once I did a deep dive into the scheme at a national level, coupled with the parliamentary inquiry in QLD, I realised the scheme isn't what it appears to be. There is over $500M out of the $1.2B annually that doesn't get returned to the very consumers who paid the 10c deposit at the till. This is excluding any charity donations.

And this is the scary part.

Most people don't know it's their money. I certainly didn't until I researched it.

The education around how the scheme works is almost non-existent. I feel very strongly that this money should be used to expand the scheme with real incentives to return beverage containers, while also promoting how and why it works.

That is exactly what I intend to do by turning it into a game. Something fun and exciting. Something that gives people opportunities to change their lives. Something that always carries a positive message through the media.

The Vision

Why I Won't Stop

100% Recovery

Not 85%. Not 90%. Every single container. Because anything less is accepting that containers being littered and going to landfill is okay — and it's not.

Urban Mining

Containers are just the entry point. E-waste, metals, plastics, textiles — billions in recoverable value hiding in plain sight.

National Pride

Australia will show the world how behavioural change at scale actually works. Not theory. Not promises. Real, measurable results.

Urban Mining & the Circular Economy

Beyond containers, we are expanding into urban mining: the extraction of high-value materials from waste streams, sheds, cupboards, draws and other places that are currently ignored or underutilised. The revenue model is straightforward — recovered materials have commodity value. E-waste, batteries, rubber, metals, plastics, textiles, and more. These emerging material streams each carry a market price. At scale, urban mining becomes a significant and self-sustaining model, with margins that can fund both incentives, operations and causes simultaneously. The circular economy is not just an environmental framework — it is an economic one, and we intend to operate at its centre.

● My Promise

Iamallin.

No backup plan. No half measures. I'm building something that outlasts me. Something that proves Australia can lead the world in behavioural change, circular economy, and environmental impact.

Years of commitmentNo shortcutsReal impactNational scaleUrban mining vision
Thisismylife'swork.

I'm not building this to sell. I'm not building this for recognition. I'm building this because Australia deserves better, because the planet can't wait, and because I'm the one willing to go all-in to prove it's possible.

I won't stop until every container comes home to the scheme.

I won't stop until Australia leads the world.

I won't stop. Period.

At a Glance

The initiative, in brief.

Who we are

The 10c Recycling Games is a public behaviour change initiative designed to mobilise positive action through participation, reward, and purpose.

Who delivers it

The initiative is delivered by pleyr-x — a gaming platform owned by Gamified Technologies, the parent company and social enterprise behind the broader ecosystem.

Why it matters

It brings together behaviour change, community engagement, environmental action, and embedded social impact in one connected system.

How we got here

We analysed years of Container Deposit Scheme data across every Australian state, identified a structural ceiling that infrastructure alone cannot break, and built a solution specifically designed to close the gap — a national behaviour-change platform that turns recycling into participation.

The Mission

Why this exists

The 10c Recycling Games begins with a simple belief: positive behaviour should be easier to activate, easier to recognise, and worth rewarding. Recycling is the public starting point, but the reason behind it is broader. This initiative exists to show that when people are given a meaningful reason to participate, better outcomes can be created for communities, causes, and the environment.

Behind this sits a wider vision led by Gamified Technologies and pleyr-x, built around the idea that consumer behaviour can be directed toward better outcomes when participation, purpose, and trust are designed properly.

A Glimpse Into the Work

Years of work. One small window.

We don't film everything we do — not even close. What you see here is a tiny snapshot of years spent quietly helping people, building ideas, and showing up before any of this had a name. This is just one moment from a much longer story.

Philanthropic Purpose

Built to create more than participation

The 10c Recycling Games is designed to create outcomes beyond the immediate action itself. At its core is a deeper belief that participation should be able to contribute to something bigger than the individual moment.

Community benefit, purpose, and wider positive impact are not afterthoughts. They are part of the reason the initiative exists.

This connects the emotional story of the founders to the larger social purpose behind the venture — a system designed to prove that everyday action can become meaningful contribution.

Who We Are

Our Values

These aren't aspirations on a wall. They are the lived principles behind every decision, every rebuild, and every container we've committed to bringing home.

01

Lead with Love

Everything we do starts with genuine care for people and planet.

02

Relentless Courage

We pursue what others won't. We keep going when others stop.

03

Earth is Non-Negotiable

We don't compromise on environmental outcomes. Ever.

04

Community First, Always

We exist because of communities. We exist for communities.

05

Make It Extraordinary

Good enough isn't a version we ship. We reach for remarkable.

06

The Secret to Living is Giving

We are philanthropists at heart — so we built the most sustainable giving engine in the world.

07

Joy Is the Engine

We turn obligation into play. Recycling should be fun.

08

Radical Transparency

We say what we mean. We show what we measure. No spin.

09

Think in Cycles

We build systems that regenerate — financially, environmentally, socially.

10

Kindness Is Strength

We treat every person — partner, competitor, community member — with genuine respect.

01 of 10

Lead with Love

Everything we do starts with genuine care for people and planet.

Love isn't soft — it's the most powerful force we know. We lead every decision, every interaction, and every initiative with authentic care for the communities we serve, the people we work with, and the planet we share. This isn't a platitude. It's the reason Matty has rebuilt from nothing three times and kept going. Love is what makes this sustainable when logic alone would have stopped him long ago.

What this looks like

We design incentives that genuinely reward communities, not just drive metrics. We pick up the phone when someone needs us. We show up even when it's hard.

"These values aren't written for a website.
They're written because we've lived them."

A New Economic Model

The Incentivised Behavioural Economy

What is emerging from all of this — and what we are genuinely proud to be building — is something we call the incentivised behavioural economy.

The reality is this: your behaviour as a consumer already generates enormous revenue for others. Every purchase you make, every action you take, every moment of attention you give — brands pay technology companies significant sums for access to exactly that. Your time, attention, and transactions have been monetised at scale for decades. The value has simply never been shared with you — and we believe it should. So that is what we're doing.

Our model is built on a simple principle: if your behaviour has value to someone else, you should earn from it too. We are building a centralised platform where the everyday actions of everyday people — recycling, purchasing, engaging, participating — generate revenue that flows back into a shared prize pool and a series of funded causes.

Big tech earns from you.

We earn with you — and share what we earn.

This is what it means to win at life.

A Personal Message

From the Heart

You've heard some of my story and some of the struggles. The years haven't been easy, but every time I got knocked down, I got back up stronger, wiser, and more determined to make a positive impact in the world.

Now I have the engine to create value for everyone involved, and I'm incredibly excited to lead the nation with this initiative before taking it to the rest of the world to showcase the environmental innovation coming out of Australia.

Let's do this together.

I'm truly grateful, and I thank you for your support.
